Common Spanish RSVP phrasings
“RSVP” isn't a Spanish acronym, so most Spanish-language invitations use a phrase instead. The four most common are:
Confirmar asistencia
Se ruega confirmación
Favor de confirmar
Confirmar antes del [fecha]
Each carries a slightly different register: Confirmar asistencia is direct and neutral, Se ruega confirmación is the most formal, Favor de confirmar is polite and conversational, and Confirmar antes del [fecha] includes the deadline directly in the phrase.
Bilingual invitation wording examples
For events with English- and Spanish-speaking guests, pair the two languages in the same invitation. Two simple patterns work well:
Please RSVP by June 1st Favor de confirmar antes del 1 de junio
Kindly reply by [date] Se ruega confirmación antes del [fecha]
