What a save the date is for
A save the date is the early heads-up before the formal invitation. For a wedding, it usually goes out 6-12 months before the day; for other events, 2-3 months ahead is common. The goal is simple — give guests enough notice to clear their calendars and book travel.
Save the dates don't ask for an RSVP. That comes later, on the actual invitation. But if you already have your RSVP page set up, you can include the link or a QR code on the save the date so curious guests can find it.

Adding an RSVP link or QR code to your save the date
Most save the dates don't ask for an RSVP, but they're a good place to point guests to your event details if you have them ready. Two options:
-
Wedding website link. If you have a wedding website, include a short URL like
scanrsvp.com/e/youreventat the bottom of the save the date. - QR code. Print a QR code that links to your event page. Guests scan with their phone and see the date, location, and any travel info you've added — without having to type a URL.
Note: ScanRSVP doesn't send save the dates — those go out via your printer, your designer, or whatever digital tool you use. ScanRSVP is the RSVP page that lives on the other end of the QR code or link.
